I was asked how I do my style.

SO I CREATED A HANDY GUIDE!

This is how I start off pretty much ever image I draw in this style. Feel free to play around and stuff, I've left out a lot of the things I do so it's pretty much the base bones for people to use.

And yes, I do most of my work with the lasso tool like a 9 year old in the 1990's.

If you try out something with this let me know! Throw me a link and I'll add the thumbnail to this.

Very, very interesting! This is in no way how I thought you did it, at all. I shall have to try!

Yeah, its a pertty old way to colour, back when mice and graphic tablets were not as great.

Back then, all my stuff was traditional. I didn't get in the digital game until about 2006 or so. Still, the way you make it look is fantastic!

Really, that's not TOO bad. Although, it's interesting to see your style back then and seeing it now! That's a HUGE style jump! My style....unfortunately has stayed relatively the same, and that's prettymuch why I'm upset at my own style. XD

My style is all over the place. I never seem to have one. Maybe just go out on a limb and try something completely out of left wing! Try drawing something you really hate. That usually works for me.

It's hard thinking of what I really hate! XD Well, style-wise at least. Thinking of what I hate concept-wise is easier.

It was 2002ish I started, I think I have the image around here somewhere. I'll have to did it up for nostalgias sake. It was a picture of an anime-esque tiger girl which I inked on paper and coloured with like, photoshop 5 or something nuts.

It was only 2009 I finally got a graphics tablet. Everything before was mouse work so this is a life saver.
Plus if ever I find myself without Photoshop and only a laptop touch pad, I know this will work. At the very least, it's a good back up!

That's quite amazing that your olderstuff was mouse work. The only sort of mouse work I did way back when was smudging scanned drawings! Oh no, colored pencil speckles everywhere, SMUDGE THEM OUT. I thought it looked amazing. They're on my old dA account. ~IKilledSociety. I was a huge furry back then!

I really need to try out your technique for myself. Juuuust as an experiment! I love trying new techniques and mediums.

hahaha 'old crap art' Love the gallery naming.
I deleted my REALLY old DA account but the majority of my work was traditional and marker cleaned up in a bog standard imagine software.

My favorite was a picture of Rei I did. Though I think that's in well earned storage now. (aka; it's crap)

I encourage everyone to try this coloring style. It's so basic and malleable everyone can try it and morph it into something unique.
